- The binding, cover, and production are handsome. The photographs are spectacular. Included are many historical photographs alongside the contemporary battlefield photographs. While the walk details are brief, they are enough to get anyone started when visiting the selected battlefields. A lovely edition to any Civil War library.
- This is the best photography book of civil war sites by far. Gorgeous photographs with the nation park maps to boot. Another big plus for Rizzoli.
